How to Monitor Windows Server 2008 Resource Usage

An effective and useful resource monitor tool was built-in with Windows Server 2008 together to allow the server administrators to monitor the current resource usage easily.

Step 1: To open the resource monitor, right-click on the start bar below windows server OS, and click on “Task Manager“.

Step 2: Click on the “Performance” tab.

Step 3: Click on “Resource Monitor“.

Step 4: This is the interface of the resource monitor. It will monitor the CPU, Hardisk, Network and Memory usage of the server.

Step 5: By click on the highlighted arrow beside one of the resource monitor tab (Example in the screenshot, the CPU usage tab), you will see the list of the processes that currently consuming the server.
