How to transfer DNS ownership at IP ServerOne?
When you transfer a domain between accounts within IP ServerOne, the associated DNS hosting service is also moved—maintaining continuity of your DNS records and preventing service interruptions.
Before proceeding, please ensure the receiving account (new owner) has:
-
At least 50 Cloud Points
This is required to activate Standard DNS hosting in the new account.
Transfer Methods
1. Via Customer Portal (Recommended)
If the domain is still active in your account:
-
Refer to this guide for detailed steps: How to Transfer Domain Ownership via Portal
- Once ownership transfer completed, the DNS hosting and its records will transfer automatically, ensuring uninterrupted service.
- This is the most reliable option to ensure a seamless DNS migration.
2. Via Manual Request (Support Ticket)
If the domain has already been moved:
-
Submit a support ticket using the authorized email address/account with both the original and destination account details.
-
Confirm the destination account holds ≥ 50 Cloud Points before we proceed.
-
Manual setup: If DNS hosting is transferred without sufficient Cloud Points, your website and email may become inaccessible.
Important Notes
-
No Cloud Points → No automatic transfer. DNS hosting will not move if the new account lacks the required balance.
-
To minimize risk of downtime, we strongly recommend keeping your domain registration and DNS hosting under the same account whenever possible.
