Why do I need an e-Invoice?
An e-invoice is required as part of Malaysia’s nationwide initiative to digitalise tax administration and improve business efficiency. The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) has made e-invoicing mandatory for businesses in phases, covering B2B, B2C, and B2G transactions.
You need an e-invoice for the following reasons:
- Regulatory compliance
E-invoicing is mandated by the Malaysian government, and businesses must adopt it according to the implementation timeline to avoid penalties or non-compliance issues. - Improved efficiency and faster processing
E-invoices eliminate manual paperwork, allowing quicker invoice generation, submission, and validation. - Better accuracy and reduced errors
Automated systems minimise human errors in billing and financial records. - Lower operational and compliance costs
Digital invoicing reduces administrative workload, printing costs, and storage needs. - Enhanced transparency and tax reporting
E-invoices are validated and stored digitally, helping businesses maintain accurate records and comply with tax requirements more easily.
If you require an e-invoice, please first update your Tax Identification Number (TIN) via our Customer Portal. Once your TIN has been updated, you may retrieve the e-invoice from the Customer Portal.
Please note that the e-invoice is typically available within one (1) working day after the tax invoice is generated.
