Introduction

The Limit Bandwidth Usage feature in WHM allows server administrators to control the maximum amount of data transfer that a cPanel account can use. This helps ensure fair resource allocation, prevents overuse by a single account, and maintains overall server performance.

  • A basic understanding of bandwidth usage and account management in WHM

  • The username or primary domain of the account you wish to modify

 

Steps to Limit Bandwidth Usage in WHM

Step 1: Log in to WHM

  1. Open your browser and navigate to your WHM login page (e.g., https://your-server-ip:2087).
  2. Enter your root or reseller credentials and click Login.

 

 

Step 2: Access the Limit Bandwidth Usage Interface

Once logged in, From the WHM sidebar, go to Home, then open Account Functions, and click Limit Bandwidth Usage.
Alternatively, use the search bar at the top left and type Limit Bandwidth Usage to locate the feature quickly.

Step 3: Select the Account

From the list of accounts, find the one you want to modify.
You can either scroll through the list or search by username or domain name.

Click Limit next to the chosen account.

Step 4: Set the Bandwidth Limit

In the provided field, enter the new bandwidth limit in MB

Click Change to apply the new bandwidth limit.
The updated limit will take effect after WHM processes the changes, usually during the next daily bandwidth check.
