Prerequisites

Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Access DirectAdmin

Step 2: Navigate to your folder.

Go to the Your Account section and click on File Manager. You will see the list of directories and files available, navigate to the directory with the file you wish to edit.

Step 3: Edit the File.

Locate the file and click Edit on the same row. The contents of the file will be displayed, and you may edit directly in the box. Once you have made the changes, click Save As.

Note: You can only edit text-based files (e.g, .txt, .html, .php, etc.) directly in File Manager.

(Optional) Rename file.

You may also rename the edited file by entering the new name in the bottom right field before clicking Save As.

Note: Renaming a file will create a new file with the edited content, instead of replacing the original file.

Step 4: Verify the creation.

You can verify that the edited content has been successfully saved by clicking the name of the file. The file content will be displayed as a webpage.
