When a user change email password, will the admin/master receive the notification?
In general, admin or master accounts do not automatically receive notifications when an email user changes their password. This behavior varies slightly depending on the control panel or email platform used:
cPanel
-
When an email account password is changed (by the user or admin), no automatic notification is sent to the cPanel admin or master account by default.
-
The change can only be reviewed through account access or audit logs (if logging is enabled).
DirectAdmin
-
Similar to cPanel, no notification is sent to the admin or master account when an email user updates their password.
-
Password changes are handled silently unless additional custom monitoring or logging is configured.
SmarterMail
-
By default, admins do not receive notifications when users change their email passwords.
-
Password changes may be visible in system or audit logs (if enabled).
-
Notifications can be configured at the user level in some cases, but admin notification is not enabled by default.
