Using the default phpmail() will not be able to get email sent out from Joomla hosted on our shared hosting product as the function is disabled due to security reasons.

Please create an email account at DirectAdmin control panel, and configure your Joomla to send out the email by using SMTP authentication:

1.) Log into Joomla control panel using admin user, go to the mail configuration settings.

2.) Insert the details into the highlighted boxes as below:

a) Select the SMTP Server for Mailer Method.

b) Remove the Sendmail path, check ‘No’ for “Use Mini Sendmail” box while check ‘yes’ for “SMTP Authentication required”

c) Insert the email address into SMTP username box and enter a password into SMTP password.

d) Insert the SMTP host, eg. mail.domain.com.

3.) Save and apply the settings. Try to send out mails through Joomla now!
