How to clear cache in webmail (Roundcube)?

Last updated on |

Introduction

Roundcube is a browser-based webmail client used in cPanel hosting. Over time, you may experience display glitches or slow loading due to cached data stored in your browser.

Unlike some apps, Roundcube does not have a built-in “Clear Cache” button. Instead, the recommended method is to clear your browser cache to resolve these issues.

Prerequisite

  • Access to Webmail via https://yourdomain.com/webmail

  • Login credentials for your email account

  • Using Roundcube as the selected webmail client

  • Access to your browser’s settings to clear cache

Steps to Clear Cache in Webmail (Roundcube)

Step 1: Log in to Webmail

  1. Open your browser and go to https://yourdomain.com/webmail

  2. Enter your email address and password

  3. Select Roundcube from the available webmail options

Step 2: Navigate to Roundcube Settings

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings

  2. Go to Preferences > User Interface

  3. You can optionally change a setting such as:

    • Turn Pretty dates ON or OFF

    • Switch Time format from 12-hour to 24-hour (or vice versa)

  4. Click Save

Changing and saving a setting will make Roundcube refresh its interface, which can help fix display issues.

Step 3: Clear Your Browser Cache

Since Roundcube stores most cached data in your browser, follow the steps below to clear it:

For Google Chrome:

  • Click the three dots (⋮) > Settings
    1. Search for “cache” in the search bar.

    2. Select Delete browsing data

    3. Select Cookies and other site data & Cached image and files (WARNING: This will sign you out from most of the sites except your Google account)
    4. Click Delete Data
    5. Restart the browser and log back into Webmail

For Firefox, Safari, Edge:

Steps are similar — just access the Privacy or History section in your browser’s settings and clear the cache.

Conclusion

Roundcube Webmail does not have a built-in button to clear cache.

Clearing your browser cache is the only effective way to fix these problems.

After clearing your cache, log back into Webmail for a refreshed and updated view.
