Changing Admin Email in SmarterMail
Can I Change the Admin Email for My Newly Registered Email Hosting?
Yes, you can change the admin email address directly within the SmarterMail interface, which is the platform we use for our Email Hosting service.
Here’s how you can change the Admin Email (Postmaster account) inside SmarterMail:
- Log in to your SmarterMail Webmail as the current domain administrator (usually the default postmaster account).
- Once logged in, go to Domain Settings (gear icon on the left sidebar).
- Under Users, locate the account you want to assign as the new domain administrator.
- Click on the user, and in the user’s settings, look for the “Domain Admin” option and enable it.
- Save the changes.
- Optionally, you can now remove “Domain Admin” rights from the previous admin if needed.
⚠️ Important Note: Make sure the new admin account has a secure password and is actively monitored, as it will have full control over your domain’s email settings.
