If you want to switch from Google Mail to SmarterMail, you will need to follow the following steps.

Before you start, you need to enable IMAP for Gmail.

Step 1 – Login into the Gmail account.

Step 2 – Click “Settings“, “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” and enable IMAP.

Once you have done that, you can now proceed to configure SmarterMail.

Step 1 – Login into SmarterMail.

Step 2 – Click “Settings“.

Step 3 – Expand “Advanced Settings” and click “Mailbox Migration“.

Step 4 – A pop-up window will appear. Select “Gmail” from the drop-down menu and click “Next“.

Step 5 – Choose the items that you want to import into SmarterMail. For this tutorial, we have chosen “Email” and “Contacts”. Click “Next“.

Step 6 – Fill in your Gmail account login credentials and click “Next“.

Step 7 – Click “Start” in the next window to import the data.

Step 8 – When the import process is completed, click “Close“.

Step 9 – You should now see all your emails and contacts in SmarterMail.
