How to reset file ownership in DirectAdmin

1. Login to your DirectAdmin page.    

~example: cp.url.com

2. Click on Files icon

3. Go to the file directory where you would like to reset the file ownership. In this example, we are going to change the Apache ownership to user.

4. Resetting the ownership.

i.   Tick on the box at select column.

ii. Tick on “Recursive” box at the bottom panel if you want the file inside the folder change ownership too

iii. Click “Reset Owner” button.

Your file ownership will changed now.

5. Setting file permission

i.   Tick on the box at select column.

ii.  Edit the permission to “777“. Picture below showing “755”, change the value to “777” here.

iii. Click on “Set permission“.

Your file permission have been set now.
