How To Enable cPanel To Show Hidden Files

There are some files on your web server are hidden for security purpose. They could be anything; configuration file, setting file, error log and etc. However, if you need to access these hidden files, you can do so by enabling cPanel to show hidden files.

 

Method #1

Step 1 – Login into cPanel.

Step 2 – At the bottom of the page, click “reset all interface settings”.

Step 3 – When you access “File Manager” the next time, a pop up will appear and you can enable the option to view hidden files.

 

Method #2

If Method #1 didn’t work, you may want to add the following code into your “File Manager” link.

Example: Original File Manager link:

https://sme01.small-dns.com:2083/cpsess6255456789/frontend/x3/filemanager/index.html?dirselect=webroot&domainselect=domainname.com&dir=%2Fhome%2Fusername%2Fpublic_html

Example: Modified File Manager link:

https://sme01.small-dns.com:2083/cpsess6255456789/frontend/x3/filemanager/index.html?dirselect=webroot&domainselect=domainname.com&dir=%2Fhome%2Fusername%2Fpublic_html&showhidden=1&saveoption=1
