To FTP into your WordPress, you’ll need a client and we recommend you to use FTP client like Filezilla. This can be downloaded from here.
Proceed with Filezilla Client installation
After Filezilla successfully installed, you can proceed to use them to access your server using sFTP first. Open your Filezilla client and type “sftp://server-ip-here” in Host followed by Username and Password
*You can leave the Port to be blank as it will use default FTP port.
You’ll login as root as that’s the only login you have right now for the server. And you’ll be able to access, write and delete files.
